Time for a coffee break
Hiya peeps!
How’s your day been?
Hopefully as bright as a sunny day. J
Today I thought I’d
write about something that’s very dear to my heart…coffee! Now I wasn’t always
a coffee drinker. Oh no, no, no. Uni was more my red bull and V period.
Occasionally I’d have an iced mocha, served with ice cream of course, but that
was probably it. The coffee drinking didn’t start until I became a young
professional and entered into the workforce.
Now I thought I’d share my history of what types of coffee I started drinking to what my usual order is now. So first it started with a latte, for any new coffee drinker I recommend this as a starter. You can order all different types of flavours, it is truly amazing. Then I tried a flat white and eventually moved to what I generally order 90% of the time a cappuccino. Sometimes I mix it up and order a flat white or latte, this can irritate my friends because they have to change the order for me. Then they give me a look of “why can’t you just stick with one type of coffee order?”. I can’t help it! I like to be a bit spontaneous with life. This usually means changing my coffee order. I know, I’m crazy right?!
Anyway, wasn’t that a
piece of riveting reading. Hahahaahha.
Ok, so the whole point of this post
isn’t to share with you my coffee order history. But I wanted to share my
thoughts on why I think coffee breaks are beneficial to human kind.
Case point 1 - It wakes
you up when you need it
You
know what I mean. You get to work. It’s early and you’re all like, man I don’t
want to be here I want to be in bed. But then once you get that morning coffee,
you’re like, life is amazing!
Case point 2 - The smell of coffee provides you
with a happy feeling
Like
you haven’t smelt coffee and not smiled. Oh you haven’t? Then maybe it’s just
me.
Case point 3 - Allows you to chillax for a bit
You’re having a stressful day and you start
to feel overwhelmed. Or you start to have a lull in your day and are slowing
down in productivity. Then that means its coffee time! Or tea, it can also be
tea time. I don’t discriminate. But what I’m trying to say is, coffee helps to
break up the day and give you the breather you need.
Case point 4 - Great for catch-ups
Always save the best for last. Whether it’s a catch up with your manager,
mentor or friend. Coffees are a great drink of choice. I always love chatting
with people while having coffee, it’s that social drink that lets you take your
time to drink it and just catch-up with people.
Yup, based on those 4
points, that’s why I think coffee breaks benefit human kind. Do you agree?
So next time you hear
someone say any of the following phrases;
“Hey guys want some
coffee?”, “Anyone up for coffee?”, “Coffee time!”, “Coffee?” say Yes and enjoy
a break. Have a break, have a coffee! (see what I did there, replaced the kit kat with coffee...ha, ha, ha… ok,
ok, don’t judge me! I thought it was smart).
Anyway - Hope you all enjoyed that little piece.
Until next time!
