Hong Kong Food Advenutres

Last year I went to Hong Kong for a friend’s wedding and while I was there I decided to have a little food adventure of my own.

Got to have them wonton noodles
First meal of the trip was the good ol’ wonton noodles from Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Soup. Every time I have a trip to Hong Kong I always have the wonton noodles from Tasty. The noodles are firm, the wontons ah-ma-zing and the soup, just so tasty!

Hong Kong Breakfast at the Australian Dairy Company
My friend told me to try the scramble eggs here if I ever got the chance to come here. Meeting my new Singaporean for breakfast, she suggested to try this place. When we met up there was a massive ass line! Like wow! But luckily it moves quite fast. Once seated we decided to order the breakfast set which included the scrambled eggs, toast and macaroni. YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!

Trying out one of the many cafes in HK – 18 Grams
One of the things I wanted to do while being in HK was check out their café scene. While Googling this place popped up as it was near Causeway Bay. I decided to try this place as they use single origin coffee beans. I ordered my usual cappuccino and decided to try salami focaccia as I was a bit peckish. Coffee good. Food good. Overall café rating, good!

Milo Dinosaur and Kaya Toast
I know I’m not in Singapore, but when I was hungry and needed an afternoon snack, I headed straight to toast box to have the Milo Dinosaur and Kaya toast. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!

Going local - Beef Brisket
One day I decided to google local eats around Tin Hau, which was where I was staying this time. One place that kept popping up was Sister Wah. Known for their clear broth beef brisket noodle and radish, soaked and cooked in their thick beef brisket broth. I decided to try their Dan dan noodles with beef brisket. It was delicious!!!!! Highly recommend this place.

Local breakfast version 2
Today I was catching up with the married couple and they decided to take me Wan Chai to eat at Honolulu Café. Here I enjoyed another traditional Hong Kong breakfast. This time I enjoyed some gong jai mein with beef and ice lemon tea.
Honolulu café is well known for their egg tarts. Obviously I had to have one of these too. AMAZING!!!!

Dessert time – Green Tea crepe cake

Recommendation – Elephant Grounds
This was another recommendation, however, this time by my friend, whatsoniasaw. She told me to come here and try the ice cream sandwich. So on my last day in HK I decided to make my way to Elephant Grounds for brunch and dessert. I decided to order aburi Short-Rib Donburi as my main. I remember the dish being nice and filling and after finishing it I was wondering how I was going to fit in an ice cream sandwich. But since it was my last day in HK, I had to fit it in… and so I did. I don’t regret my decision. FOOD COMA!
