What happens when you wear glasses
Good morning peeps!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Today, I thought i'd write about something which has played a major part in my life. I'd say i've been living with this since high school, however it really didn't play a bit part until uni.
You see, I need this thing to see, without it, everyone just looks like a blob of blur to me.
Glasses.
I've been wearing glasses for about 15 years on and off. During these times, I've come to realise that there are few things which I do without realising.
So glasses wearers, let me know if any of this has happened to you.
1. Panic because you thought you lost
your glasses, however you’ve been wearing them the whole time.
Ok, just hear me out. Before I became a full time glasses wearer, I only
wore them when I needed it. So this meant a lot of wearing them and taking them off etc etc. During this period there have been a few instances, when I thought I’d actually lost
my glasses. I’d be in a full panic and be looking for them everywhere. Like EVERYWHERE!
Only to realise they were either on my head or even the most dumbest one… I was
actually wearing them. Yup, I was walking down the walk way at uni one day, and
suddenly I was like “OMG! Where’s my glasses?” Stop. Look through my bag,
actually started walking back to the Red Centre building. Then I decided
to touch my face and realised my glasses were there… yup... that was a very proud moment for me...
2. You wear prescription sunnies and
forget you’re wearing them once you’re inside the building
I’ve
actually done this a few times. I've had plenty of moments where I'd be out shopping with my friends and we casually walk into a store and I'd be that "person" who wears sunnies indoors and that's when the judgement begins. I know what people are thinking. They're thinking, "oh you're one of THOSE people." But i'm not! I just need these to see! They don't understand the struggle.
There was also this one instance where I actually wore my
sunnies all the way to work only to realise that I’d left my glasses in my car.
Yup, I left my glasses in the car… =.= LUCKILY! I actually had spare contacts
with me. Moral of this story – keep spare contacts with you. You never know
when you need them!!
3. The phantom glasses
After wearing glasses 24/7. One feels like some change. So once
and a while I’ll wear contacts. When this happens, I can sometimes forget and I imagine that
I am actually wearing glasses and go to push them up only to touch the ridge of my nose…
yup that’s not weird at all. I’ll just leave it there.
4. People always want to try on your
glasses
Pretty
self-explanatory. Haha. There have been times when people would ask to try on
my glasses. Never understood the fascination.
5. I forget where I put my glasses
5. I forget where I put my glasses
This is
the worst possible thing to happen. Ever! Why? Well when you need glasses to
see, the minute you lose them. You kinda can’t see. Makes it really hard to
find them again.
I’m not
sure if this happens to everyone, but I thought I’d just write this random
little thing. Haha.
Until next
time!!

1,3,4,5 all the time! :D
ReplyDeleteHahahah yeah I'm one of those wear it not often type - always forget where I left it especially when I need them most. I think people are fascinate with the whole image that if I try it on maybe I'll look smart? You know it's all thanks to those Hollywood movies that sometimes glamour up the whole wear glasses image.
ReplyDeleteI wish glasses made me smarter...
DeleteI wear mine for work only. Since I've started working my eye sight had deteriorated. The first and fifth symptom had been noted!
ReplyDeleteI wish there was an app that linked with your glasses, so when you lost them. Just grab your phone to find em. Or have an app where the phone is a glasses detector. hehehehehe... i have too much time on my hands.
