Baking, Making, Creating

Hiya folks!

How are we all doing? Splendid I hope.

What does boredom + baking ingredients equal. Yup that's right, something that helps fill the boredom void. Now I'm not an avid baker, but I do enjoy doing it once and a while. I decided to start with some simple recipes which i've found over the internet. I won't post the recipes here, but i'll provide links to them.

Gooey Oreo cookies

I watch quite a few of Zoella’s vlogs on Youtube and noticed that she made these choc chip cookies and they looked so good!!!! Then I searched her blog and found this recipe

Gooey Oreo Cookies!

These cookies taste SOOOOOOO GOOOOD!!! Even a week after making them, they were still soft in the centre. I highly recommend trying this recipe. Very simple to make. I like making big cookies, so I made these extra big, but you can make them normal sizes too. I pretty much followed the recipe to a tee. The only adjustment I made was for the white sugar portion. When I initially made these the first time, they were a tad bit too sweet, so I lessened the white sugar portion by 50g and they still tasted oh so good!

Ooey Gooey Chocolate cookies

Along with watching Zoella, I also watch Tanya Burr and for one of her videos, she made these ooey gooey chocolate cookies and oh my lord! They looked so darn good! They are made with chucks of chocolate on the inside of them. Again, I went to Tanya’s blog to get the recipe.

These things tasted amazing! Like they are one of the best chocolate cookies which i've made. They were so good! Best thing to have with a nice cuppa tea or coffee.

ALSO if you plan to make these cookies THEY NEED TO REST FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES! When they are taken out of the oven, they are not yet set, so if you decide to move them to a cooling rack, they’ll break. I broke 3 without realising. But they taste amazing and like the oreo cookies, they were till soft and gooey a week after baking. MmmmmMMmm!!

Matcha chocolate bark

I was craving some matcha chocolate one day and figured why not try and make it. I’ve been looking through pinterest recipes and saw this one and it appeared simple enough. For my first go, I decided to melt the chocolate using the microwave and not temper.  Maybe I’ll try to temper next time.

The dark chocolate is poured first, I don't think I spread that out evenly because when it set, there were these thick chunks of dark chocolate which overpowered the matcha. So I might try and reduce the dark chocolate portion next time. But the marble effect looks awesome and was so much fun to make.

Fluffy pancakes

So I attempted this recipe before from Zoella’s blog however, we ended up with this metal taste. I think it’s cause we were beating in my metal tin bowl. So this time around, I used a glass bowl. Zoella’s recipe is based on Jamie Oliver’s America Fluffy pancakes recipe. This time round, I decided to try Jamie’s recipe.

The end result was fluffy, yummy pancakes!

Pancakes are awesome - check out the breakfast spread below. I love having mine with some nutella, and strawberries and marshmellows. =D

I hope you all enjoyed that little creative baking feature.

Until next time!
